I can understand why Presidents of the US have stayed here.
Keep in mind when booking that It's a historical hotel without more "modern" amenities like a gym room.
The restaurant and lounge inside served food and drinks that were top notch.
Food was delicious! Wait staff was delightful! Very relaxing atmosphere!
The hotel is lovely, the staff is friendly, and the town is adorable. The rooms are spacious and have charming decor like wooden armouirs and pink pin-striped wallpaper with black and white tile in the bathroom. Unfortunately lost stars because the bed was awful...very noisy from just rolling over and so uncomfortable. We might have just gotten unlucky and maybe other beds in the hotel are better.
It is a truly remarkable hotel!
Rooms were gorgeous and well kept.
The hotel is a bit quirky if you are expecting a Holiday Inn type room and amenities - for example there is no workout room or pool. None of the rooms I have stayed in have a closet (hanging suits might be an issue). But the staff is super friendly. The side bar is awesome with friendly staff and creative drinks. The lobby is one of the more unique of any hotels I have stayed in - in a good way!
I spent 5 wonderful days here in 2 different rooms! The staff is absolutely perfect! Customer oriented and professional.
The hotel itself is beautiful, but the service at the restaurant was the worst I have seen in a long time. Two waiters and a waitress and going back a d forth and not even trying to seat us. After 1/2 hour we confronted waitress and got seated, but everyone kept passing our table s d nobody was taking our order. Had to get woman from front desk to do it. One waiter brought our dinks, but after an hour passed with no food , we had enough upon seeing people who came after us get their food served. They were seated and their order was taken. We were treated like we weren't even there. We asked before we ordered if it would take long because we were traveling and we lost 3 hours getting two omelettes for breakfast. The service was so terrible that they didn't even try to do right by us.
