We got our room keys and were greeted by the wonderful smell of mold when we walked into our room. I found mold on the curtains so i decided to open the room window to air our room out while we were at the wedding.
They weren't cleaning rooms, they were waking up the guests.
Absolutely one of the worst places I've ever stayed. The housekeepers woke me up at 8:45am.
Hair on pillows, hair on hair dryer, fire alarm battery tray open with no battery in it, wash cloth from prior guest hanging on shower curtain when I closed the curtain and more. The only positive was the night clerk was friendly. Do not stay here. $85+ dollars wasted. I should have went to country inn & suites and paid the $130 and got a clean proper room
We were greeted at the front desk by an unprofessional individual. She complained to me how tired she was because of how late she was out the night before. She also was wondering what wedding party we were with and if we were supposed to get a gift bag from the couple- as i was supposed to know. She had a dozen of them but forgot which wedding party guests she was supposed to give them to.
The rooms have been modernized and were VERY clean. The lobby area needs an update. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Older hotel but well done rooms. Would recommend to other people.
When I spoke with the day manager, she was incredibly rude.
I ordered my room for 4 nights on Wyndham. I have a government job and it has to be 91 a night. That means the rate can’t average out to 91 a night. I got to hotel after a 10 hour day and was told it would be 109.00 for the first night. And 89 for the remainder. Well my job won’t pay for it unless it’s 91 before tax. My receipt has to be 91 a night for my timesheet and if it’s over it they won’t pay. The staff made it into a super big order and would not cancel and would charge me anyways. Half the fault was the reservation booking online but the way the lady at the front desk treated me was horrible. I’ve been staying at these hotels for 2 years and now I will never again. Most of the hotels I’ve been to are accommodating and pleasant. This one was a bad apple. I never cry and I balled my eyes out at the way I was treated. They forced me to stay here and would not cancel the first night but did cancel the rest of my reservation. So if your a government employee with a rate stay elsewhere.
I was especially grumpy since I had checked in late. The night manager actually swore at me for arriving so late, even though I had a reservation.
I heard them knocking a hallway down from me, yelling "Housekeeper" and moving on.
The rooms were in good shape, however.
Other than those details my stay was acceptable. I decided to give two stars because other than the mold on the curtains, our room was relatively clean, the bed sheets were clean, the towels were clean, and they let us check in early.
I have stayed at some much better Super 8s for far lower nightly rate. Next time though I will stay at one of the other places in town.
